Fourth Round of Negotiations on the Japan-India Economic Partnership Agreement

- The Fourth Round of Negotiations on the Japan-India Economic Partnership
Agreement (EPA) will be held from September 3 (Mon) to 6 (Thu) in Tokyo, at
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- In this Round, Mr. Masaharu Kohno, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs
(Chief Negotiator), and officials from relevant ministries of Japan, and Mr.
Gopal Krishna Pillai, Secretary, Ministry of Commerce (Chief Negotiator), and
officials from relevant ministries of India will participate.
- At the Round, the negotiation will be overviewed in the plenary session of the chief-negotiator level, and such issues as market access in trade in goods, other issues relating to trade in goods (general rules, rules of origin, customs procedures), trade in services, investment, intellectual property, improvement of business environment, cooperation and other areas will be discussed in the working-level (co-chair-level) or expert-level sessions.
