The Fourth Round of Negotiations for the Japan-Brunei Economic Partnership Agreement (JBEPA)

1. The Fourth Round of Negotiations for the Japan-Brunei Economic Partnership Agreement (JBEPA) will be held on March 19 (Mon) and 20 (Tue) in Tokyo (Ministry of Foreign Affairs).

2. The meeting will be attended, on the Japanese side by Mr. Masaharu Kono, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, and representatives of the ministries and agencies concerned; and on the Brunei side by Mr. Lim Jock Hoi, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and representatives of the ministries and agencies concerned.

3. At the forthcoming meeting, the participants will discuss and seek to finalise the texts for all fields of the negotiations toward the signing of the Agreement, based the agreement in principle reached in December last year.
