Symposium "Toward Arc of Freedom and Prosperity: New Developments in Japan's Foreign Policy for the Promotion of Human Rights and Democracy"

  1. A symposium entitled "Toward Arc of Freedom and Prosperity: New Developments in Japan's Foreign Policy for the Promotion of Human Rights and Democracy"(hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) will be held on February 24 (Sat) at the United Nations University, Tokyo.
  2. The Symposium will be attended by academics, professionals, NGO representatives and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  3. At the Symposium, the participants will discuss how to advance the building of the "Arc of Freedom and Prosperity" and the course of Japanese diplomacy, to further protect and promote human rights and democracy, based on the Ministerial speech by Mr. Aso last November on the "Arc of Freedom and Prosperity: Japan's Expanding Diplomatic Horizons" and "mainstreaming human rights" at the United Nations.
