Mr. Katsuhito Asano, Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, to Visit the Philippines

Mr. Katsuhito Asano, Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit Cebu, the Philippines, from January 10 (Wed) to 12 (Fri).
In the Philippines, Mr. Asano will attend the following meetings.
(1) Mr. Asano will attend the ASEAN + 3 Foreign Ministers' Meeting (working lunch) to be held on January 11 (Thu) to exchange views with his counterparts on ways to further promote ASEAN + 3 cooperation and the preparations for the ASEAN + 3 Summit Meeting.

(2) On the same day, Mr. Asano will exchange views with ASEAN foreign ministers, at the Japan-ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting, on the review and further promotion of Japan-ASEAN cooperation, and on the preparations for the Japan-ASEAN Summit Meeting.

(3) On January 12 (Fri), Mr. Asano will participate in the working lunch of the Foreign Ministers of the EAS (East Asia Summit) member countries to exchange views with his counterparts on the modalities of regional cooperation in the future and the preparations for an EAS summit meeting.

(4) Mr. Asano will also take this opportunity to attend the Japan-CLV (Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam) Foreign Ministerial Meeting to exchange views with his counterparts of the CLV states concerning the further promotion of cooperation among them and the regional situation.
