ASEAN-Japan Counter-Terrorism Dialogue

  1. The ASEAN-Japan Counter-Terrorism Dialogue will be held on June 28 (Wed) and 29 (Thu) in a hotel in Tokyo.
  2. The Dialogue will be co-chaired by Mr. Tadamichi Yamamoto, Ambassador in Charge of International Counter-Terrorism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Mr. Hussin Nayan, Ambassador, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, and officials of the Governments of the ASEAN countries and Japan, as well as the ASEAN Secretariat, will attend the meeting.
  3. The Dialogue will be held for the first time in accordance with the agreement at the ASEAN-Japan Summit Meeting held in December last year.
  4. Considering the importance for the members of the international community to cooperate in countering terrorism, the Dialogue is intended as a forum for free and frank exchange of views between Japan and the ASEAN to strengthen counter-terrorism cooperation in the ASEAN region.
