Prime Minister Koizumi to Attend ASEAN+3, Japan-ASEAN and EAS Summit Meetings

Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, Prime Minister, will visit Malaysia from December 11 (Sun) to 14 (Wed) to attend the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) + 3 (Japan, China, and the R.O.K.) Summit Meeting, Japan-ASEAN Summit Meeting, and the first EAS (East Asia Summit), and other events.
At the ASEAN + 3 Summit Meeting to be held on December 12 (Mon), Prime Minister Koizumi will discuss ways to deal with common regional challenges, future directions of the ASEAN + 3 cooperation, and other matters.

At the Japan-ASEAN Summit Meeting to be held on December 13 (Tue) Mr. Koizumi will discuss the progress and future directions of Japan-ASEAN cooperation, and also the regional and international affairs.

At the first EAS on December 14 (Wed), he will conduct frank discussions from a broad perspective with his counterparts, with a view to creating a community in the future.
During his stay in Malaysia, Mr. Koizumi will have separate meetings with the leaders of Brunei Darussalam, CLV (Cambodia, Laos and Viet Nam), India, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Viet Nam.
