Dispatch of an Instructor to the Cairo Center for Training on Conflict Resolution and Peacekeeping

- The Government of Japan will dispatch a Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force officer, Lieutenant Colonel Misa Nakagawa, as an instructor for an integrated training program delivered by the Cairo Center for Training on Conflict Resolution and Peacekeeping in Africa (CCCPA) from 11-22 April 2010. The Course will be attended by African military, civilian and police personnel who will be engaged in peacekeeping operations.
- Recognizing that pre-deployment training is important to ensure effective implementation of peacekeeping operations, Japan has been providing assistance for African peacekeeping training centers with a view to enhancing the peacekeeping capabilities of African countries. As is the case with the dispatch of the instructor, the Government of Japan intends to continue to provide effective assistance by drawing on qualified human resources as well as by funding training programs.
