The Government of Japan welcomes the Republic of Chile’s official acceptance of the invitation to accede to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on January 11 (Mon).

Chile will be the OECD’s thirty-first member and its first in South America. It is expected that Chile’s accession to the OECD will strengthen the diversity of the OECD and contribute to strengthening OECD’s role in the international community, as well as contribute to further development of Chile’s economy and society.
