Japan Protests Against North Korea’s Ballistic Missile Launches

On July 4 at around 12 p.m., the Government of Japan made the following protest to North Korea through the “embassy route” in Beijing concerning the launch of ballistic missiles by North Korea on that day.
- The launch of ballistic missiles by North Korea is a grave and provocative
act against the security of its neighboring countries, including Japan,
and violates United Nations Security Council Resolutions 1695, 1718, and
Japan strongly protests against North Korea’s ballistic missile launches and expresses its deep regret.
- Japan urges North Korea to fully and immediately implement the related UN Security Council Resolutions such as suspension of all activities related to ballistic missile programs. In addition, Japan strongly urges North Korea to take concrete steps towards the comprehensive resolution of the outstanding issues of concern including the abduction, the nuclear, and the missile issues.
