Signing of the Agreement between Japan and the Kingdom of Thailand for an Economic Partnership

1. On April 3 (Tue), the Cabinet of Japan made a decision on the
signing of the Agreement between Japan and the Kingdom of Thailand for an Economic
Partnership (“JTEPA”).
2. Based on this decision, Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, and General Surayut Chulanont, Prime Minister of Thailand, will sign the JTEPA, the Implementing Agreement and the Joint Statement, at a Japan-Thailand Summit Meeting which will be held in Tokyo on April 3 (Tue).
3. It is expected that the JTEPA will advance the liberalization and facilitation of trade and investment between the two countries, and that it will enable the two countries to further invigorate their economies through the establishment of a reciprocal economic relationship in a variety of fields.
