Foreign Minister Kamikawa’s visit to the University of Antananarivo



On April 27, commencing at 4:10 p.m. local time (April 27, 10:10 p.m. JST) for approximately 50minutes, Ms. KAMIKAWA Yoko, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, who is visiting the Republic of Madagascar, visited the University of Antananarivo, which is located in the capital Antananarivo and has been providing Japanese language education since 1992.
Minister Kamikawa met Mr. Ravelomanana, the President of the University, Mr. Ambinintsoa, the Director of the Japanese language course and others, and paid respect to the University’s efforts for leading Japanese language education and Japanese studies in the country as the center of Japanese language education and Japanese studies in Madagascar.
Minister Kamikawa also met the students of the Department of Japanese language and stated that she would like them to come to Japan. Introducing the attractiveness of Shizuoka prefecture where she comes from, she then encouraged them to experience Japanese food culture and nature to learn more about Japan and to become next leaders in creating a new relationship between Japan and Madagascar.
