On April 29, commencing at 2:30 p.m. (local time)(11:30 p.m. JST) for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, and his spouse who are visiting the Republic of Senegal, visited the Senegal-Japan Vocational and Technical Training Center (CFPT-SJ), which was constructed and renovated with Japanese support, accompanied by H.E. Mr. Amadou Moustapha Ndieck SARRE, Minister of Vocational Training and Government Spokesperson.

Minister Iwaya, guided by Mr. Mor Padane, Director of CFPT-SJ, visited the CFTP-SJ and received explanations from the staff, confirming the role and achievements of the center, which has contributed to the development of industrial human resources in Senegal and neighbouring countries for over 40 years.

The center is a vocational training institution located in Dakar. Japan has provided support through technical cooperation and grant aid for over 40 years since its establishment in 1984.
The center consists of a computer science department, mechanical department, and electrical department, with approximately 1,000 students currently enrolled and over 7,000 graduates. Additionally, it has hosted over 1,000 trainees from 17 African countries to date.
