TICAD Ministerial Meeting Thematic Event by Deputy Director-General Imanishi Attendance at the "Moving toward the Year 2030 of Hope through overcoming the Polycrisis and achieving SDGs!" (results)
On August 23, Deputy Director-General IMANISHI Nobuharu participated in a TICAD Ministerial Meeting Thematic Event "Moving toward the Year 2030 of Hope through overcoming the Polycrisis and achieving SDGs!" organized by Japan NGO Liaison Group on TICAD and Civic Commission for Africa, which was held at the Hotel New Otani Tokyo.
In his opening remarks, Deputy Director-General Imanishi stated that the Government of Japan would like to work toward TICAD 9 next year with the cooperation of relevant stakeholders, including civil society, with the aim of “co-creating innovative solutions through collaboration between Japan and Africa,” and that to this end, it would like to strengthen the inclusiveness of TICAD through the participation of civil society, which is closest to African people. He also expressed his hope that this event would lead to meaningful discussions on how Japan and Africa can co-create solutions.
