TICAD
Launch of the follow-up website of the Yokohama Plan of Actions 2019
On May 10 (New York time), the Government of Japan, the United Nations, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the World Bank and the African Union Commission (AUC) launched a website dedicated for following up on Yokohama Plan of Actions 2019 (YPA2019). YPA2019 is an accompanying document of the Yokohama Declaration 2019 which was adopted at the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 7) held in 2019.
As an evolving document, YPA2019 is to be updated after TICAD7 by each TICAD partner. According to YPA2019, TICAD partners are encouraged to describe their measures / initiatives in YPA2019’s matrix.
Through this new website, TICAD partners are expected to follow up in line with the YPA2019, thereby promoting the three pillars of TICAD7: (1) Accelerating economic transformation and improving business environment through innovation and private sector engagement; (2) Deepening sustainable and resilient society; and (3) Strengthening peace and stability.
