This logo was designed to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the signing of the Basic Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Japan and Australia, with the themes of 'Friendship Across the Sea' and 'Hope for the Future'. The number '5' represents the waves connecting both countries, while the '0' symbolizes the sun and moon, blending Japan's cherry blossom and Australia's Southern Cross.
