On March 3, commencing at 5:10 p.m, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary, received a courtesy call from the H.E. Ms. Batmunkh BATTSETSEG, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, during her visit to Japan as a guest of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The overview is as follows.

  1. Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi said that it is a great pleasure to meet again with Minister BATTSETSEG, who had worked together to upgrade the partnership between the two countries. In response, Foreign Minister BATTSETSEG stated that she would like to continue to work closely together to further deepen the “special strategic partnership” with Japan, which is among “the third neighboring countries”. Both sides confirmed that they would further develop bilateral relations, including through regional and educational exchanges.
  2. Minister BATTSETSEG said that the visit by Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan is extremely important for Mongolia and will make thorough preparations to ensure its success. Both sides agreed to work closely together to coordinate the visit of Their Majesties in order to further promote friendly relationships between the two countries.
  3. In addition, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi once again requested Mongolia's understanding and cooperation on the abductions issue and gained her favor.
