On November 29th, commencing at 7:45 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mrs. KISHIDA Yuko, Spouse of the Prime Minister of Japan, had a meeting with Mrs. Luvsandorj BOLORTSETSEG, Spouse of the President of Mongolia, who is visiting Japan.

Mrs. Kishida welcomed Mrs. Bolortsetseg's visit to Japan in the beautiful autumn foliage, and stated that she wish President Khurelsukh and Mrs. Bolortsetseg's visit to Japan would be fruitful. Mrs. Bolortsetseg stated that she is pleased to be able to visit Japan on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Mongolia, and expressed her appreciation for the Japan’s support to Mongolia’s human resource development in the fields such as education and medicine.

Mrs. Bolortsetseg also mentioned that when she was a teacher, Japanese `ORIGAMI’ was popular among Mongolian children, and that the difficulty of neatly folding origami made her aware of the diligence, discipline, and other features of Japanese national character. Mrs. Kishida introduced the custom of Japanese people to fold origami cranes as a symbol of their prayers for peace. Moreover, they exchanged views on private sector exchange, cultural and sports exchange between Japan and Mongolia, and other issues in a friendly atmosphere.
