Japan-U.S. Common Agenda Seminar III

Partnerships among governments, businesses and NGOs in the area of environment

Since July, 1993, Japan and the United States have been actively promoting the bilateral cooperation under the framework of "Common Agenda for Cooperation in Global Perspective" (the Common Agenda) in order to tackle the global issues such as population, health and environment conservation in close cooperation with other countries and achievements in a variety of areas.
This year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Common Agenda Roundtable (CART) will host the third Japan-U.S. Common Agenda Seminar on Tuesday, October 10.

1. Themes

This seminar will focus on Japan-U.S. cooperation in the area of environment with special focus on the private-sector participation, public-private partnership, business participation and partnership between business and NGOs, as private-sector has come to play an increasingly important role in the Common Agenda activities.
