First Meeting on Joint Study for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) among Japan, China, and the Republic of Korea

  1. The First Meeting on Joint Study for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) among Japan, China, and the Republic of Korea(ROK) will be held from May 6 (Thu) to 7 (Fri) in Seoul, the ROK.

  2. Relevant individuals from the government, industry, and academia will attend from Japan, including Mr. Yoichi Otabe, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Hiroyuki Ishige, Vice Minister for International Affairs from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Mr. Yi Xiaozhun, Vice Minister of Commerce of the Ministry of Commerce from China, and Mr. Hae Min Lee, Deputy Minister for Trade of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade from the ROK will attend.

  3. At this meeting, opinions will be exchanged, building on the research jointly conducted by academic experts, on topics including trade and economic relations among the three countries and their FTA policies.
