H.E. Major General Joseph Kabila, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to Visit Japan

- H.E. Major General Joseph Kabila, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, will visit Japan from March 13 (Sun) to 16 (Wed) at the invitation of the Government of Japan.
- During his stay in Japan, President Kabila will be received by His Majesty The Emperor of Japan. He will also have a summit meeting with Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and talks with Ms. Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund), and will attend the Japan-DRC Business Seminar co-hosted by JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) and the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Japan, and other meetings.
- This will be President Kabila's first visit to Japan and will be the first in 16 years by a Congolese president. The visit is expected to further strengthen the relationship between Japan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo in a broad range of areas.
- The President will be accompanied by a total of six ministers including Mr. Ramazani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
