Dispatch of a Cultural Exchange Mission to Myanmar

  1. From Wednesday, April 4, to Friday, April 6, the Government of Japan will dispatch a cultural exchange mission, headed by Dr. Takashi Shiraishi, President of the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), and consisting of experts from various fields, to Myanmar in collaboration with The Japan Foundation.

  2. The mission aims to discuss future policies for the expansion and enhancement of cultural exchanges and cultural cooperation between Japan and Myanmar with the government officials and other experts of Myanmar. It will report the results of the discussion to the Japanese government as a policy recommendation.

  3. In addition, on the occasion of the dispatch of the mission, a photo exhibition, a lecture presentation, presentation of a Japanese movie, and other cultural events are to be held in Myanmar in line with the expertise of each member of the mission.
