Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs SHIMADA Attends the Opening Ceremony of the “Pakistan-Japan Friendship Festival 2026”

On August 6, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. SHIMADA Tomoaki attended the opening ceremony of the “Pakistan-Japan Friendship Festival 2026” held at Ueno Park and delivered a speech on behalf of the Government of Japan.
- In his speech, Parliamentary Vice-Minister SHIMADA mentioned that Japan and Pakistan have made cooperation across a wide range of fields and steadily cemented amicable relationship since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1952. He expressed his hope that this festival would further promote mutual understanding and friendly relations between the two countries. Parliamentary Vice-Minister SHIMADA joined Hasnain Haider, Chargé d’ Affaires ad interim of Pakistan to Japan, and other attendees at the ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the festival and wish it every success.
- The festival attracted many visitors, featuring a variety of booths offering Pakistani cuisine, merchandize goods, exhibits, and cultural exchanges.
