Japan-Pakistan Relations

  1. The Japan-Pakistan Counter-Terrorism Consultations held its 3rd meeting in Islamabad, Pakistan on December 19, 2017.
  2. H.E. Mr. Eiji Yamamoto, Ambassador in charge of International Cooperation for Countering Terrorism and International Organized Crime, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and H.E. Ms. Tasnim Aslam, Special Secretary (UN&EC/SCO/Administration), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Pakistan represented respective sides. Officials from counter-terrorism related ministries and agencies also attended the meeting.
  3. In this meeting, Japan and Pakistan exchanged views on issues such as the current regional terrorism situation, counter-terrorism measures in both countries and international cooperation on counter-terrorism and violent extremism.
