Parliamentary Vice-Minister SHIMADA and Nepali Ambassador Subedi exchanging views

On October 30, Mr. SHIMADA Tomoaki, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, received a courtesy call by H.E. Dr. Durga Bahadur Subedi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nepal to Japan, who is soon to leave his post. The overview of the meeting is as follows:

  1. At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister SHIMADA expressed gratitude to Ambassador Subedi for his longstanding contributions to deepening bilateral relations, as Ambassador to Japan.
  2. Ambassador Subedi expressed congratulations on Parliamentary Vice-Minister SHIMADA on his appointment. He also expressed his intention to continue to support the strengthening of Japan-Nepal relations in various ways even after leaving his post.
  3. They also had friendly discussions on cooperation toward further deepening of bilateral relations with a view to the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Nepal next year.
