On November 17, Prime Minister ABE Shinzo sent a congratulatory message that he intends to further develop the Japan-Sri Lanka relationship to H.E. Mr. Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, the new President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, upon his victory in the presidential election held on November 16th and his inauguration as the new President.
