On January 17, commencing at 3:20 p.m. local time (6:50 p.m. Japan Time) for approximately 25 minutes, Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, during his visit to Delhi, India, visited the Delhi Metro. Japan provided loans and assisted in the construction of the Delhi Metro, applying methods used in public infrastructure in Japan such as women-only cars, the custom of lining up for the train and braille blocks.

Minister Motegi received an explanation from Mr. Sanjay Kubba, Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and others, on how Japanese technologies and methods are used in the Delhi Metro, after which he took a test ride.
