On June 26, Mr. NAMAZU Hioryuki, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, held the 18th Japan-Singapore Vice-Ministerial Policy Dialogue, with Mr. Albert CHUA, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore during his visit to Singapore.

  1. The two sides welcomed the progress of concrete cooperation being made primarily on the five priority areas identified in the “Joint Statement on the Establishment of a Strategic Partnership”announced by the Prime Ministers during Prime Minister Wong’s visit to Japan in March of this year, and concurred on further strengthening bilateral relations.
  2. The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues, including the situation in the Indo-Pacific and the Middle East, and concurred that both countries would continue to work closely in the international arena.
