Informal Talks between Foreign Minister IWAYA and Hon. Lazaro, Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Republic of the Philippines

On July 11 (July 11, JST), commencing at 13:25 for approximately 5 min Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs, who is visiting Malaysia, held informal talks with the Honorable Maria Theresa Lazaro, Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Republic of the Philippines, who took office on July 1.
The overview is as follows
- The Two Ministers welcomed the successful holding of the Japan-US-Philippines Foreign Ministers’ Meeting yesterday together with the Honorable Marco Rubio, Secretary of States of the United States of America, which produced significant results. They also confirmed that they will follow up on the areas of cooperation agreed upon by the three countries yesterday.
- The Two ministers agreed on the early entry into force of the Japan-Philippines Reciprocal Access Agreement (RAA), and confirmed that they will continue discussions on an Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement (ACSA) and an Agreement on the Security of Information to further deepen bilateral cooperation in the field of security.
