Japan-Philippines Relations

Today, on November 7, 2018, Mr. Koji Haneda, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of the Philippines, and Mr. Teodro L. Locsin Jr., Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines, exchanged notes for the grant of parts and maintenance equipment of UH-1H helicopters no longer needed by the Japan's Self-Defense Forces. This grant of parts and maintenance equipment to the Philippines is in accordance with the Article 116-3 of Japan’s Self-Defense Forces Law. The notes exchanged today ensure that the parts and maintenance equipment granted by Japan will not be transferred to any third party, or used for any purpose other than as agreed by the Government of Japan, without its prior consent.
