Japan-Malaysia Foreign Ministers’ Informal Talks

On November 14 local time (November 15 Japan time), Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, who is visiting the Republic of Peru to attend the APEC Ministerial Meeting, held informal talks with H.E. Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Hasan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia. The overview is as follows.
- At the outset, Minister Mohamad expressed his congratulation once again to Minister IWAYA on his appointment as Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Minister IWAYA expressed his gratitude.
- The two Ministers concurred to steadily promote cooperation in the maritime fields, including through the OSA (Official Security Assistance).
- Furthermore, the two Ministers also concurred that Japan and Malaysia, ASEAN Chair next year, closely work together on various regional and international challenges.
