Japan-Indonesia Foreign Ministers' Informal Talks

On November 14 local time (November 15 Japan time), Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, who is visiting the Republic of Peru to attend the APEC Ministerial Meeting, held informal talks with H.E. Mr. Sugiono, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. The overview is as follows.
- At the outset, Minister Sugiono expressed his congratulations to Minister Iwaya on their first in-person meeting, and Minister Iwaya expressed his gratitude.
- The two Ministers exchanged views on the possibility of cooperation in the areas such as climate change and energy, including the AZEC initiative, as well as infrastructure and fisheries.
- Furthermore, the two Ministers concurred to cooperate in the areas of security and defense as well, including the OSA (Official Security Assistance).
