Congratulatory Message from Prime Minister Kishida to President-elect Prabowo of the Republic of Indonesia
On March 20, the Indonesian General Elections Commission (KPU) officially announced that H.E. Mr. Prabowo Subianto, the incumbent Minister of Defense, won the presidential election held on February 14. Following this result, Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, sent Mr. Prabowo, the President-elect, a congratulatory letter on March 20.
In this letter, Prime Minister Kishida extended his congratulations to President-elect Prabowo, and conveyed his intention to work together on bilateral cooperation in a wide range of areas as well as on regional and global issues, touching on the bilateral relationship that was elevated to a Comprehensive and Strategic Partnership last year when the two countries celebrated the 65th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.

- Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar: 40,971,906 votes (24.9%)
- Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD: 27,040,878 votes (16.5%)
