Meeting between Prime Minister TAKAICHI and H.E. Mr. Tran Thanh Man, President of the National Assembly of Viet Nam

On May 2, commencing at 4:00 p.m. local time (6:00 p.m. Japan time) for approximately 15 minutes, Ms. TAKAICHI Sanae, Prime Minister of Japan, who is visiting Viet Nam, held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Tran Thanh Man, President of the National Assembly of Viet Nam, at the National Assembly Building.
- At the outset, President Man welcomed Prime Minister TAKAICHI’s visit to Viet Nam and expressed his pleasure that the “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” between Japan and Viet Nam has been developing in various fields. In response, Prime Minister TAKAICHI expressed her congratulations on Chairman Man’s reappointment and her intention to further strengthen Japan-Vietnam relations.
- The two sides concurred on advancing cooperation in the fields of economic security, such as energy, critical minerals, AI, semiconductors, and space, as new priority areas of Japan-Viet Nam cooperation. Prime Minister TAKAICHI expressed her expectation for the role of National Assembly for further enhancing cooperation between the governments..
- The two sides concurred on further strengthening exchanges between their parliaments and parliamentarians including female and young members.
