Courtesy Call on Chief Cabinet Secretary HAYASHI Yoshimasa by H.E. Mr. Do Van CHIEN, President of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front

On July 29, commencing at 2:10 p.m. for 30 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary, received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Do Van CHIEN, President of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front. The overview is as follows.
- At the outset, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi expressed his condolences to the victims and their families of the tourist boat incident that occurred in Ha Long Bay on July 19. He also stated that he would continue to promote cooperation with Viet Nam through high-level visits and exchanges, including on the occasion of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.
- In response, President Chien expressed his gratitude for the condolences extended regarding the tourist boat incident, and stated his desire to further develop the bilateral relations across a wide range of fields under the “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership”. He also noted that Vien Nam has been undertaking various reforms.
- Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi raised the issue of abductions of Japanese citizens by North Korea, and asked for understanding and cooperation for its immediate resolution.
