Activities of Mrs. ISHIBA Yoshiko, the Spouse of Prime Minister of Japan in Viet Nam (April 28, 2025)
1 Wreath Laying at Monument to Heroic Martyrs and Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum

Mrs. ISHIBA Yoshiko, the spouse of Prime Minister of Japan, visited the Monument to Heroic Martyrs and Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum to observe a moment of silence with Prime Minister Ishiba.
2 Welcome Ceremony

Prime Minister and Mrs. Ishiba attended the official welcome ceremony held at the President Palace and were welcomed by H.E. Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and Mrs. Le Thi Bich Tran, the spouse of the Prime Minister.
3 Partner’s Program


After the welcome ceremony, Mrs. Ishiba visited the Viet Nam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, guided by Mrs. Le Thi Bich Tran, the spouse of H.E. Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. Mrs. Ishiba learned about the diversity of Vietnamese ethnic groups and participated in hands-on activity making traditional toys and musical instrument. She also attended a show featuring the Vietnamese traditional costume, Ao Dai. During this visit. Mrs. Ishiba and Madam Tran have exchanged views on a wide range of topics, including the cultural interaction between Japan and Viet Nam.
4 Visit to the Japanese School of Hanoi


Mrs. Ishiba visited the Japanese School of Hanoi and observed classes at the elementary and junior high schools. During the welcome ceremony, a student representative delivered a speech, and the students performed choral pieces. Mrs. Ishiba delivered a message of encouragement to the students, urging them to “Be interested in a wide variety of things, embrace new many experiences, and enjoy their life in Viet Nam”.
5 Visit to the Foreign Language Specialized High School


Mrs. Ishiba visited the Foreign Language Specialized High School under the University of Foreign Languages - Viet Nam National University, Hanoi and interacted with students majoring in Japanese. She exchanged views with them and sent a message of encouragement, expressing the hope that they would take an active role as a bridge between Japan and Viet Nam in various fields in the future.

Viet Nam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, which opened in 2010, is an outdoor cultural theme park established to preserve and introduce the traditional cultures of Viet Nam's 54 ethnic groups (under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism). Visitors can enjoy traditional cuisine and cultural experiences from each ethnic group in this nature-rich facility.

The Japanese School of Hanoi established in May 1996. It will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2026. The school currently has 531 students and 46 teachers.

The Foreign Language Specialized School, established in 1969, is affiliated with the University of Foreign Languages and International Studies, Viet Nam National University, Hanoi. It specializes in foreign language education, with courses in English, Japanese, Chinese, German, Russian, Korean and French. Approximately 1,930 students are enrolled. The Japanese language program, which started in 2005, is considered one of the highest standards among secondary education institutions in Viet Nam.
