Japan-Viet Nam Relations

On December 5, commencing at 5:20 p.m. for 15 minutes, Mr. ISHIBA Shigeru, Prime Minister of Japan, received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Tran Thanh MAN, President of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. The overview is as follows.

  1. At the outset, Prime Minister ISHIBA welcomed President Man’s visit to Japan and expressed his desire to continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation through high-level communication, noting that he had meetings with H.E. Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, in October and H.E. Mr. Luong CUONG, President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, in November this year. In response, President Man appreciated the Japanese side for their hospitality during his visit to Japan and expressed his desire to cooperate with Prime Minister ISHIBA under the “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership”.
  2. Both sides shared the view that they will continue to deepen the cooperation, including inter-parliamentary and inter-local exchanges. They also agreed to strengthen cooperation in various areas, including in the areas of economy, security, and people-to-people exchanges.
