Japan-Viet Nam Relations

1. H.E. Mr. Vo Van Thuong, President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, and his spouse, Madam Phan Thi Thanh Tam will pay an Official Visit to Japan from 27 November to 30 November.
2. During their stay in Japan, the President and Madam Tam will make a State Call on Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan, and Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan will host a Court Luncheon in honor of the President and his spouse. Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, will hold a summit meeting with the President. Prime Minister and Mrs. Kishida will host a dinner for the President and his spouse.
3. The Government of Japan sincerely welcomes the visit of the President and Madam Tam and hopes that this visit will further strengthen the friendly relations between Japan and the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. During their stay in Japan, the President and Madam Tam will visit Tokyo and Fukuoka. Through the visit to Fukuoka, further development of both countries’ regional exchange is expected.

1. This will be H.E. Mr. Thuong’s first visit to Japan as the President.
2. H.E. Mr. Thuong visited Japan for the Invitation Program for Young Vietnamese Politicians in 2011 and for the Invitation Program for Strategic Practitioner in 2015.
