On October 25, Ms. TAKAICHI Sanae, Prime Minister of Japan, delivered the following message of condolences to H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Thailand, following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother on October 24.

“I extend my deepest condolences on behalf of the people of Japan, upon learning of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. Her Majesty Queen has made immense contributions to the unity and prosperity of the Thai people over many years. Her achievements will forever be engraved in our memories. We extend our deepest condolences to the people of Thailand and pray for the eternal rest of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother."

On the same day, Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, delivered the following message of condolences to H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand.

“We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. I offer my sincere condolences to the Royal Thai Family, the Government of Thailand and the people of Thailand. The long-standing relationship between the Imperial Family of Japan and the Royal Thai Family has been the foundation of the current friendly relations between Japan and Thailand. I remember the achievements of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother during her lifetime and offer my deepest condolences for her soul.”
