Japan-Thailand Relations

On August 11, Mr. NAMAZU Hiroyuki, Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, held the 11th Japan-Thailand Political Partnership Consultations (JTPPC) in Thailand with H.E. Ms. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

  1. During this consultation, Mr. NAMAZU and Ms. Eksiri discussed a wide range of bilateral relations, including security, people-to-people exchanges, the economy, and regional cooperation, looking ahead to the 140th anniversary of Japan-Thailand diplomatic relations next year.
  2. In addition, they exchanged views on the situation in border areas between Thailand and Cambodia, and the regional situation, including the situations in North Korea and Myanmar. They confirmed their intention to further strengthen cooperation between Japan and Thailand.
