On June 17, SHIMADA Tomoaki, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, visited the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo and signed a Condolence Book to offer his heartfelt condolences on the passing of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha of the Kingdom of Thailand.

Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha is the first-born daughter of His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn. She studied law in the United States and, after returning to Thailand, served for many years as a public prosecutor. She also has a career as a diplomat, having served as Ambassador to Austria and as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador.
