Congratulatory Message from Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to the President-elect of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar

1. On March 15 (same day local time), following the election of Mr. Htin Kyaw, member of the National League for Democracy (NLD), the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, in a presidential election held at Myanmar’s parliament, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe sent President-elect Htin Kyaw a congratulatory message.
2. In the congratulatory message, Prime Minister Abe explained that he intends to cooperate closely so that the cooperative relationship between Japan and Myanmar progresses further.
