President Thongloun of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Visit Japan

His Excellency Dr. Thongloun Sisoulith, President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party will visit Japan from May 29 to May 31.
- During his stay in Japan, His Majesty the Emperor of Japan will hold audience to the President. Mr. ISHIBA Shigeru, Prime Minister of Japan, will hold a meeting with President Thongloun to discuss the bilateral relations and regional and international issues. President Thongloun will attend the Nikkei Forum 30th "Future of Asia."
- President Thongloun's visit to Japan is expected to further strengthen the "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership" which was elevated on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year, and to further deepen the friendly relations between Japan and Laos.

President Thongloun was inaugurated as the President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic on March 22, 2021. This will be President Thongloun's second visit to Japan as President.
