Mr. Akihisa Nagashima, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister, visited the Kingdom of Cambodia from June 30 to July 2, 2025. A summary of the visit follows:

  1. On July 1, Mr. Nagashima paid courtesy calls on Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister and H.E. Mr. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. These meetings facilitated productive exchanges on bilateral relations, focusing particularly on security cooperation, as well as regional and international issues.
  2. Also on July 1, Mr. Nagashima paid his respects at the memorials to the late Mr. Haruyuki Takata (a police officer, who was dispatched to the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia) and the late Mr. Atsuhito Nakata (a UN Volunteer), who both died during the UN peacekeeping mission in Cambodia.
