Japan-Cambodia Working Dinner

On July 6, commencing at 7:00 p.m. local time (9:00 p.m. Japan time) for approximately one hour and forty-five minutes, during her visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia, Ms. Yoko Kamikawa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a working dinner with H.E. Mr. Sok Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The overview is as follows.
- Deputy Prime Minister Sok Chenda Sophea extended a warm welcome, and Minister Kamikawa expressed her deep appreciation for the hospitality extended by Deputy Prime Minister Sok Chenda Sophea and the Cambodian government during the visit. Minister Kamikawa also stated that it is important to maintain and strengthen a free and open international order based on the rule of law, and that Japan would like to cooperate with Cambodia based on the longstanding trust relationship between the two countries.
- The two Ministers exchanged views on cooperation between the two countries in the history of Cambodia and agreed to continue to work together on regional and international affairs, including the situation in Myanmar, North Korea, ASEAN-Japan cooperation and WPS.
- At the working dinner, the two Ministers confirmed that they will steadily advance cooperation between Japan and Cambodia under the new approach that they have now formulated, and the discussion took place in a friendly atmosphere.
