Courtesy call on Chief Cabinet Secretary HAYASHI by H.E. Dr. SAY Samal, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction of Cambodia

On February 20, commencing at 6:00 p.m., Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary, received a courtesy call from H.E. Dr. SAY Samal, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction of Cambodia, who is visiting Japan upon the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The overview of the meeting is as follows:
- Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal’s visit to Japan, and also expressed his gratitude for the message regarding the Noto Peninsula Earthquake. In response, Deputy Prime Minister Say Samal expressed his appreciation for the support by the Japanese government and people in the peace, reconstruction, and development of Cambodia.
- The two sides also exchanged views on bilateral relation. Both sides welcomed that relationship and cooperation between Japan and Cambodia, which is a “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership,” has been expanding in recent years into various areas such as security and digital domains. They also welcomed the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation on Japan’s Quasi-Zenith Satellite System between National Space Policy Secretariat of the Cabinet Office of Japan and the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction of the Kingdom of Cambodia as a new area of cooperation during this visit. The two sides also shared the view to further strengthen cooperation in the areas such as digital, surveying and satellite domains.
