Courtesy Call on Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs SHIMADA Tomoaki by H.E. Mr. CHUM Sounry, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Japan

On May 27, commencing at 5:30 p.m., for approximately 30 minutes, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs SHIMADA Tomoaki received a courtesy call by H.E. Mr. CHUM Sounry, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Japan. The overview is as follows:
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister SHIMADA welcomed Ambassador Sounry on his appointment and expressed his hope to cooperate closely towards the realization of the updated Free and Open Indo-Pacific.
- In response, Ambassador Sounry stated that, as Ambassador to Japan, he would promote the” Economic Co-creation Package” and make every effort to further deepen bilateral relations between both countries in political and security cooperation, economy and trade, and the promotion of people-to-people exchange under the “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.”
- Both sides exchanged views on regional and international affairs including the border situation between Cambodia and Thailand, combating organized fraud, and promoting democratic development in Cambodia.
