Dinner between Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs SHIMADA Tomoaki and the Delegation of Young Cambodian Political Leaders

On March 23, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs SHIMADA Tomoaki hosted a dinner and exchanged views with ten Cambodian youths involved in politics (two from the ruling party, seven from opposition parties, and one from civil society), who visited Japan under the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The overview is as follows:
- At the outset, Parliamentary Vice-Minister SHIMADA expressed his welcome to the delegation and stated his hope that they would utilize the experiences gained during this visit to Japan to further advance Cambodia’s democratic development through communication, exchange and dialogue from various perspectives.
- In response, the participants expressed their desire to take back to their home country the knowledge and experience gained through this invitation program regarding Japanese democracy and the institutions that underpin it, and to utilize them for the development of Cambodia.
