Courtesy Call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU Ayano by H.E. Mr. TUY Ry, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Japan

On November 11th, commencing at 10:40 a.m., for approximately 30 minutes, State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU Ayano received a farewell courtesy call from H.E. Mr. TUY Ry, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Japan. The summary is as follows.
- State Minister Kunimitsu expressed appreciation for Ambassador Tuy Ry’s efforts during his three years and eight months in office, noting that bilateral relations between Japan and Cambodia advanced significantly during his tenure. In particular, the relationship was elevated to a “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” in 2023, and cooperation now extends to global peace and stability, including trilateral collaboration in mine action.
- In response, Ambassador Tuy Ry stated that during his tenure, Japan-Cambodia cooperation was strengthened through numerous high-level exchanges and projects under the “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.” He also conveyed appreciation for Japan’s longstanding support across various fields since the Cambodian peace process.
- Both sides exchanged views on cooperation in security, the economy, the situation along the Cambodia-Thai border, combating organized fraud, and promoting democratic development in Cambodia.
