About 120-150 tons of unclassi-fied solid wastes are dumped everyday. Leachate, fly breed-ing, air pollution due to open burning and other environ-mental and health threats are clearly visible.

The discharge area contains raw sewage coming mainly from the Jalazone refugee camp, located on the hill area beside Jafna. The wastewater is deteriorating the quality of underground water nearby.
