Situated on the northern border of Jordan, Al-Ekeder Solid Waste Dumping Site collects 330 tons/ day of organic, industrial and hazardous solid wastes from Irbid and Mafraq Governances.

About 3,000m3 of septage is dumped in the Al-Ekeder site, and, combined with solid wastes, the dumped wastes is said to be deteriorating the water quality of Yarmuk River.

Irbid Wastewater Treatment Plant

Irbid plant is in charge of treating an average of 10,000m3/day of wastewater, covering about 60% of the urban population of Irbid. The sludge accumulated in the plant is currently dumped in the Al-Ekeder dumping site

Diar Control Center

Diar Control Center

The Dirar Control Center is responsible for the water management of the King Abdullah Canal. Much emphasis is currently given on the daily / seasonal management of water quantity, and a closer attention on the water quality monitoring may be needed.
